The Webuild Group directly contributed to the construction of three relevant sections of the Bucharest-Constanta railway line, a project whose main objectives were to increase traffic capacity and reduce travel time between the two cities, modernize the line by bringing it up to European standards, and help integrate the section into the TEN-T trans-European transport network.

Overall, the works carried out resulted in the modernization and upgrading of 106 km of double-track main line along the Fundulea-Fetesti section, including the modernization of the Mostitstea Bridge and the construction of the Sarulesti Bridge, 340 and 235 meters respectively. The project made it possible to upgrade the speed to 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight trains. The interventions performed by Webuild were carried out along the sections identified as Section 2 Fundulea-Lehliu, Lots 1 and 3 and Section 3-4 Lehliu-Ciulnita-Fetesti, Lot 2.

Lot 2 of Section 3-4 is identified as the most relevant section among those built by Webuild on the line. The project included the modernization of about 78km of double-track line on the section from Lehliu to Fetesti and the modernization of about 23km of track at 9 stations.

The works on Section 2, Lots 1 and 2, included, the modernization of 28 km of double-track railway section, along a route from Fundulea to Lehliu, including the modernization of two stations and Mostitstea Bridge and the construction of Sarulesti Bridge.
